So, About me and Why you should become a Patron? ...

Well ... I have been creating Chrome themes for many years, You can see a good few of my themes right on top of the web store ... I have created many themes like Nebula and Carbon Blackout that are used by thousands of people, theme enthusiasts, perhaps like yourself ...

I never charged any money for my themes or plan on doing so ever, My themes will always be free, right in the Chrome store ... I made a website, which I named chromethemer.com, cause I create chrome themes.

You can visit here and browse through most of the themes that I ever created throughout the years... but ...

Managing a website, creating all of the content and then paying out of my own pocket became very hefty one could argue So, I decided to run Ads on chromethemer.com like everybody else does with their site I suppose.

I know everyone dislikes most ads, but they pay the bills to be just honest about the whole thing.

But... I know, Loading times on some pages that are serving advertisements may sometimes leave you with a bad experience when you come to chromethemer.com and I don't like that at all. I want you to visit here and hopefully find a theme you adore and keep on your computer forever ... but Ads are necessary for the moment.

I find myself spending so much of my time, just worrying about stuff like SEO, and marketing which I have absolutely no clue about, even after all this time and just the general technical stuff that one experiences as a website owner I guess.

Basically, I have grown quite fond of chromethemer.com. It's a fun little site. I like spending my time working here and getting things just right for you, but what I am most passionate about is making Chrome themes ... So ...

In a way, chromethemer.com takes away time that I can spend making amazing new Google Chrome themes for you ...

Ads suck right!?

I know what you are going thru when you are looking for my newest and best Chrome themes ... You wanna see my themes and I show you ads on chromethemer.

I wish I didn't have to, I mean some ads can sometimes be useful to you, but when you are coming to chromethemer, you want themes and I have lots to
show you, lots of amazing and high-quality themes …

However ...

It costs me around $450 every month to keep chromethemer alive and functional. I dread the thought of people coming to my site and getting mad because I show ads on my pages.

If I did not run ads on chromethemer there would be no revenue, and without it, chromethemer can't be everything that it is right now.

In an effort to balance the experience you have on chromethmer to work for you and myself ... I have tried many things before like:

Limiting ads on the pages you love the most ...
Reducing load times by using WebP images, that saves you bandwidth and is lighter on my pocket ...
I Introduced a donate button, where you can donate some cash to chromethemer using papal

But ... Everything I tried, leads me back straight to running ads on as many pages as I need to pay these bills every month.

There might be a solution though ...

I recently discovered Patreon.com, Now yeah, I know... I am so busy making themes that I actually still live in 2001, So ... For those who are not laughing because you have known about patreon for years, and I just discovered it a few weeks ago ...

I have thought about a plan, to totally give you more.

AdBlock People ...

Another thing, those of you that use AdBlockers.

I currently live in South-Africa and my publisher does not currently offer me any clawback protection that I am aware of. That is basically what happens when a site owner runs ads to pay for stuff and people use AdBlockers. No one gets rewarded, except for the people who developed the AdBlocker.

In some countries, I have heard that some publishers recuperate some of the lost funds thought these AdBlock companies on behalf of their publishers, but there has yet to be such a program released here or any lost funds returned to me.

So ... Ladies ... Guys …

If you are using AdBlockers please consider becoming a Patron or at least try donating every once and a while with PayPal. I believe most of you try to tip your waiter after he or she has nicely brought you what you asked for.

Just imagine that instead of your waiter just going to get you a few drinks and getting your order for you... Now, your waiter also has to be the chef and bartender at the same time.

That is, unfortunately, the reality of being a webmaster and people using adblockers really have no idea how they actually harm our babies. I have been working on chromethemer for many years, So, Everything you see on here is created, placed, coded and developed by me ... I made all my themes publically available for free, for you, added wallpapers and backgrounds and more for free ...

The only people who get rewarded for this are the people that convinced you to install their adblocker.

Anyway ... make of it what you want, but to me, I wouldn't use it. If I landed on a site that offered me nothing and only ads, I wouldn't go back to it. But, if I land on a site that has what I like and there are some ads on it ... I personally would not install an adblocker and totally just be there. What you see is made by a person. Paid for by a person, and maintained by a person.

So ... enough said about that ...
